For magically inclined people there are other outlets for these feelings. The energy that you raise within yourself can be directed and pointed at things. Breaking with tradition a lot of modern thought I’m going to suggest that the energy raised by negative emotions can be put to use in things that aren’t specifically harmful.
It’s time to care again. It’s time to care fiercely, with hearts aflame and hands raised, with the Ancestors below us and the Gods behind us, with fearsome compassion in our deeds and righteous fury in our eyes.
Heathenry is a hostile climate for many and I’m dubious about that ever changing; it’s good to create new spaces and models within which to grow new structures. If Heathenry becomes more accepting of the marginalized and the mystic then we won’t have lost anything from doing so, and if it doesn’t then we will have done the work already.
Sometimes, even often, modern people discover that the ancient patterns of those relationships are not working for them, and indeed not what the Gods are asking for. When the mindset discourages people from listening to their lived experiences with the Powers, they either work to ignore their experiences (which means on a certain level ignoring those beings) or they leave the oppressive structure that does not allow for what their Gods and spirits want.
